      Short term rental needed!!!

We are due out of our rental on Monday and finding it so hard to get a long term rental, every house we see has about 30 people viewing it.
So we need more time and the rental we are in isn't available for any longer :-/
Can anyone help with the best place to find a short term rental to buy us some more time for house hunting?(northern suburbs preferably)

Any reply's would be much appreciated :-)

      Many thanks,
      Alison.

Hi Alison ... bit expensive but what about a holiday let - maybe via stayz or look on gum tree.

      Hi Ali,
Thank you, we have looked into holiday lets, they are all around $1000 per week. Even the caravan park is $1200 per week, it's a nightmare trying to get somewhere. Hope we have better luck next week.

      Thanks for your reply
      Alison.

      Hi Alison

How many are there in your family? I really feel for you, the market is very tough at the moment.

      Hi Tracey,
There are 4 of us, we have two young boys of 4 & 2. It's so hard, we applied for a house on Monday and still haven't heard if we've got it or not, so frustrating as each application requires 1 weeks rent along with it so it's hard to do that if your putting in loads of applications and are on a tight budget.

What I have noticed was that the "British expat" areas are swamped with viewings on each rental house. If you go to some of the more "locals" type areas there is less competion for rentals. You don't have to change your budget and often the areas are nicer. e.g. Doubleview, Trigg, Karrinyup, Carine all had less viewings than their equivalently priced rentals in Mullaloo, Ocean Reef, Mindarie, Burns Beach etc.

Very good point JJ, and do you really want to be living in 'little Britain'!

That's a good tip actually, we looked at all the popular expat areas and there were 30/40 people there viewing the houses, even the really not so nice houses (to put it politely)
So yeh looking in other areas and widening your search area is a good idea. We eventually secured a house in currambine so we are extremely chuffed to have got it considering the amount of people viewing it.

try explaining your situation to the letting people as most of them will be very helpful and suggest other properties that have not come up just yet.
we found that too its a nightmare trying to get to the viewings as they are usually trhough the week when everyone is working. what area are you looking at ???

Hi gill, thanks we got a house in currambine, we got the phonecall to say we had got it on the day that we moved out of our holiday rental, couldn't believe it. We found that the majority of estate agents were very unhelpful, it was like they didn't care coz they knew they would get plenty of interest in the houses so their attitude was like they couldn't care less. There were one or two nice helpful ones but we were disappointed in the majority. We are so glad that part is over coz it was a nightmare for us.
      Alison.
