We received our case file reference today - 10 days after our visa application acknowledgement.

DIAC seem to be getting things moving quickly at the moment. Booking meds tomorrow and arranging PCCs.

Hi Bev

We are March applicants.

We plan to go over mid next year, after No. 1 son has finished his GCSEs.

What stage are you at & when do you plan on going?

I am a midwife but am 47 so a bit to old to migrate through the 'normal channels'. However after a visit to Perth in May with a mission to find a job I final received a sponsorship. Therefore i think if you have what they are in desperate need of. Things move faster. we are just awaiting the arrival any day of our visa. So fast eh and aim to be there for January 08 it just a matter of selling the house.

our Visa was lodged on 01.08 but still not had pre- ack yet...... we were hoping to be out there early as poss but at the earliest it's prob going to be May and hopefully no later than July.Chloe has SATS this year so we'll wait untill she's finished them. I think they go into the year above in Oz so she'll go straight into High school (scary) Our house is up for sale so we'll move in with my sister, that way we'll save a bit of money. I'm just feeling inpatient at the moment, feel like nothings happening

Hi Bev. Well we were called by our visa company ...visa connections 5 weeks ago to be told that visa should be approx 8 weeks. We are now waiting the sale of our house (Does anyone want a 3 bed house in Wickford). Although we are still waiting for the visa. Everythings here appears to have come to a stand-still. Are we inpatient or what. Where in Oz are you going too we are going to Mandurah

i think were entitled to be a little inpatient LOL , STill not sure where were going, originally it was Joondalup or Minderie then i was told Morely, ellenbrook and a few other places are nice , so still a little unsure, we'll just rent holiday accommodation at first then arrange something more long term then hopefully buy somehwere before the house prices go uo any more. what are your plans. what date do you think you'll go???

Hi Bev and all.
Just thought I would let you know I'm stlii here! I keep looking on site but don't have lots to contribute yet. Just awaiting skills assessment acceptance - still!
I too am an older Midwife (44) at end of year therefore need to get moving with PR visa.
They say the waiting is the worse thing.

I think we could all recommend a different area for you to live in...... but all our tastes are different?

Best bet is to book furnished holiday accommodation short term, hire a car and go have a good look see. Don't just look around the north areas......... venture south of the river too......... have a real good look around........ then you'll have to decide for yourself.

Obviously if there are any no-go areas........... then it's to be hoped members will enlighten you pretty fast. I don't like criticising other suburbs because there are people living there who would beg to differ re my opinion of their suburb? It is good to glean first hand info though from people who have actually lived in certain suburbs.

Decisions....decisions eh?

Hi,quick update for you.
Not heard yet re skills assessment but now find my points for PR visa have gone down due to changes on 1st sept! English Language points used to be 20 now they are 15. This means my toatal score is 115 - under the threshold. The only way to get extra points is to sit the IELT Test or get a firm offer of a job. I am going for the job!
Good luck all
