Hi Tomo,

We's still here in the UK - the very rainy Chilterns, to be precise :x !!

It's hubby's hope that he can try his hand at something else, yes, but he really doesn't know what yet! He's even considering going back to college to retrain.

I think this decision is a case of 'I CAN try something new in Oz because I wont have a mortgage hanging around my neck, so therefore why not?!' If we stay here in the UK with all the mortgage etc trappings there is very little chance of him ever changing career this late in life.

He would also rather work for someone than have his own business & all the heachaches that go with it again.

What are your careers plans when you get there?

Karen

Hi Tomo,

The quotes we got were pretty much the same, I guess it boiled down to the guy from John Mason was a bit more professional and the itemised quote was more accurate, he wanted to know everything we were taking, where the other guy looked in the loft and just said OK. I know someone who had a problem in Melbourne with Wridgeways (the agent here), but they were brilliant in Perth and despite there being a delay in Fremantle port we got all our stuff within the 12 week time scale.

We've settled really well, only been here since January but the time has gone so quickly we can't believe it. Got two children 12 and 7 who have also settled incredibly well (which has helped us no end). Both had jobs before we came, I've just got another job (within the same service). It helps to start work pretty quickly (I think) feels more like 'normal' life rather than being on holiday.
