How Long

Does anyone know approx how long for belongings to get to Aus. Taking most of our stuff from 3 bed house so think we may fill a container which I know means it's a little quicker as not waiting for someone else to fill space - but how long before we receive it at the other side? Trying to work out how long we need first accommodation for.

I think the 'norm' is 6 - 8 weeks. Best thing is to get a few people out to quote. We had someone round (Britania) before we had even started our Visa process, just so we could get a cost idea before embarking on the whole process.
Personally, we found PSS to be fantastic - knowledgeable and by far the best priced - However, that was just for us - I'm sure there's others out there :wink: AND of course, as they will not be around until 12th September to start packing, the proof is still in the pudding so to say :shock:

We used copsey's and they we're Brill our stuff is being shipped tomorrow(18th August) and should arrive on the 13 September they cost £3600 for a 20f container we had other quotes from £3500 £6000 so best to shop around.

Thanks Rich, will probably give them a ring, Crown said it could take 8 weeks with a sole container, want to try to avoid moving in with the in-laws if I can.

Lots of people rent household packages for 2 months from us and sometimes it can take 6 weeks to the longest period of time was 11 weeks, but these people were already in their place and the kids started schooling and they settled in. Hope you have factored in maybe a longer stay in your situation. Best of luck.
