Well yes, before you ask, that's sarcasm!!

Hi everyone, my name is Lisa (37) Hubby Paul (37) kids Lloyd (17) and Maddison (14) and 2 mutts that we hope to bring (after we beg, borrow or steal the 5grand that it'll cost to bring them!!)
As I said, we are from 'sunny' Blackburn in Lancashire, England. We have been talking seriously about crossing the pond for a year or so! Never really thinking anything would come of it!!
Firstly we were told that we would need the extra points of a government sponsored visa........so Adelaide it was going to be! It wouldn't have been my first choice, but not having a choice is different!!
Then the points system changed......and we also have a family member in Sydney who has generously asked if we need a sponsor!! So now the whole place has opened up to us and we need to make a decision!!
Having been told by our Migration Agent (asa) that Perth is 'the place to be' and that my Husband would easily find work there(he is a production/operations manager)........here I am! I am extatic that there are oportunities for us in Perth as it has appealed to me from day 1.

If anyone can give us any help or just general tips we would be very grateful.
I am looking forward to spending a lot of time researching Perth and Paul will be sending his C.V. to as many companies as possible. We have been told that the visa will take 6-9months.....so only ONE more Xmas in 'sunny BBurn' then!! Scarey !!

Hi just wanted to say Hello. We moved from equally sunny Preston to glorious Perth in January this year. Like you Perth just appealed to us (we'd visited QLD and it's lovely), and we don't regret moving here. I'm not an expert being a relatively newbie here myself and to be honest haven't had the opportunity to travel around (although we're off to Bussleton next weekend). Bull Creek Bob and Bob Cat are oldies (not a reference to your ages guys honest!!), and will be a mine of information. Our visa took 7 months, I know there's a bit of a backlog at the moment.

Good luck with everything

Ali

hi lisa

My hubby and I (Mark) and 4 children, paige james madison and baby alexander arrived in adelaide, australia 4 months ago, and after 2 months in adelaide my hubby found it really hard to get a job , then he decided to apply all around austrlia and he was offered one immeadilatly in perth the same job but the wages seem to be alot higher in perth. I found adelaide very hard to settle into but perth guys and girls seem to a lot more friendlier.Enjoy the time you have left in UK and make the most of time you have left there, i wish you all the best and if you have any other questions please ask
