Hi All

Just wanted to say hello, just came across this website (which looks to be just hours old???) Would be really nice to see a new Perth forum with no bitching, and a little bit of positivity!!!!

Anyway, we are a family of 4 flying out to Oz on the 15th September, and will be renting in Halls Head, Mandurah for our first 3 months. However, we really aren't sure yet where we are going to settle, and will be doing a rekkie on arrival all the way from Two rocks down to Bunbury - taking in the hills on the way. All this with 2 girls aged 1 and 5 - Ahhhhhh
Would love to hear from anyone who can offer us a spot of advice how to retain our sanity, or plug their area

Thanks!!!
Paula x

Hi Paula

I'm the second member, it seems. :)

Do you know about Tim's other site called Poms In Oz? That is pretty lively with lots of members now, absolutely no bitching (not that I've seen, anyway) and a really nice crowd who go out of their way to help and support other people. Plus it has a Perth/WA section on it.

Try here:

I've been to Mandurah but I can't remember exactly where. We went to visit some friends with a very swish house beside a canal. I particularly recall some incredible sea-crabs in Mandurah. Bright blue, which looks a bit odd (would you drink blue soup?) but they are scrummy to eat!

My sister lives in Jandakot, which is a bit closer to Freo. She has lives in Perth for about 25 years now. Our mother is in the process of obtaining a Contributory Parent visa. This will enable Mum to control when and for how long she travels back and forth, rather than DIMA dictating how she lives her life.

Now that Tim has given this site a plug on Poms in Oz, I'm sure a lot of people will join this website as well.

Best of luck with your plans.

Gill

you definately need a portable dvd player!
i would suggest a bucket and spade and wet clothes so you can jump straight in the water when you want to cool off and let the kiddies free
