Hi,

I'd like to introduce ourselves to PerthPoms.com, We are Kris & Claire, both 34. I have a Mechanical Engineering honours degree and Claire is a Graphic Designer. We found this site via PIO and have just signed up with an agent in the hope of being state sponsored in WA and granted a permanent visa. Since I've been self employed in an unrelated occupation for the past 5 years this is our best option.

So it's Western australia for us, but this is now the big Q, Where? I've looked at some maps of Perth and surrounding areas and there are so many suburbs and towns. Can anyone give any clues as to where a Mechanical Engineer is best situated? Obviously near the coast is highly desirable.

Cheers,
Kris

Hi Kris, where do we start, there are absolutely loads of lovely places to live.Anywhere on the coast is lovely and with the train going north and sth , and major freeways, no where is to far away from the city centre,it comes down to money, the most expensive being City beach and Cottesloe, the further Nth or Sth it gets cheaper(not much)..If you are looking to build you will have to look at the outer edges of surburbia, Butler/brighton in the north and sth ,I am not sure.Mandurah is very nice but about 90kms from the city south. We live in Mullaloo ,which is an older coastal suburb, 30 minutes from town nth and close to all ameinities.Lots of English live in the Joondalup area and Rockingham area. catch ya
