Merry Xmas !!!

Well we have now just been asked to attend our Medical examinations, which after 14mnths to get this far is FAB...however, its now a big however - we have been advised that ALL members of the ' family unit ' which i presumed to be myself, hubby + our 3 kids...oh no its any other dependant children must attend (even if they're not included in the application)...well my hubby has 3 dependant kids & hasnt good relations with any of them or there mother. They are older kids & will not cooperate atall if they know he is getting on with his life (ex has poisoned them against him) & now they hav no interest in him atall...even though he does pay an amount for them each month !!! Our agent has advised us we need to get a solicitor involved.....!!!:mad: We are heartbroken that we've come this far & spent so much money with this agency...why i dont understand do the other kids need clinical medicals when we have no contact atall with them...??? WHAT CAN WE DO ?? Does anyone know if our agency has got it wrong?? or if anyones got any suggestions what we can do about this awful situation??

Hi

I'm not a hundred % sure about this your have to seek legal advise....but try citizen advice first.
I think the reason they like to do medicals on other dependant children is in case there mother dies then they would have to live in Oz to be with their father.
Oz want to make sure the children aren't going to be a burden on their society. If they don't have the meds then they would need to apply like everyone else or you would have to return to the UK to care for them.
Bascially its all about who's got PR (Parental responsibility).
Like i say i'm not an expert on this it's just something that was said to us. I hope; you are able to sort things out.

Thankyou for your reply....Our agent has told us much the same really. We holdout little if not any hope of these kids attending medicals..!! Our agent has said that atleast our case officer dealing with our applications will then see that we have attempted to contact these kids mothers for her consent & our visas SHOULD then be issued (providing our medicals in Jan are all ok :o) which they hopefully will be.
