Is our time scale for emigration realistic?

Hello everyone.

This time next year we should be over there in sunny Perth.

I'm Neil (36), my wife is called Sari (37) and our daughter, Olivia (11).

We are currently waiting for our visas to be processed. We sent our Skilled Independent Worker Visa, with docs supporting qualifications / experience etc.back in Sep 07, and our meds were sent all clear last month. I just have to forward our police clearance docs. which have just recently arrived from Scotland Yard. Full steam ahead, you might think.

However, despite several late night phone calls, are still waiting to be appointed a case officer!

Does anyone know how long it's going to take?!! The Adelaide processing centre don't appear too certain.

We are hoping to arrive late Oct / early Nov 08 in the hope that I may commence employment as a secondary school teacher in January09, and our daughter may start at the same time (but as a pupil, not a teacher!).

I would appreciate the benefit of anyone's experience - Is our time scale realistic?

I don't think there is any consistency in COs being appointed, every case seems to be different :embarassed:

Hi,

Our visa process took 7 months from Late December 2005 - mid July 2006. However, we waited for our CO to request medicals and Police checks and didn't front load. I think Karen is right that there seems to be no consistency with the appointment of CO's. However, you will have a year from the date of your medicals to validate.

Hi there we did nt get a case officer until three weeks before having our visa granted. i sent the visa meds and police clearance off in September 2007 and emailed DIAC in November and received an email with CO name then the visa arrived second week in December. It does depend upon how many applicants they are processing it appears.
