4 nearly new arrivals!

We are Jo(teaching assistant but stay at home mum at mo), Dean (HVAC engineer/electrician), Leanne (7) and Rebecca(4). We are coming out to perth in march and are hoping to settle into the Aussie way of life by socialising and by get togethers with other families in the same boat as us (excited but very nervous) We are planning to settle in Connolly or Currambine and would love to hear from anyone either in Perth already or arriving shortly who can offer any advice on schools,jobs,rentals or just words of encouragement.

We live in Mindarie, not far from Connolly & Currambine. I don't think rentals come up very often in Connolly. It was one of the suburbs we always used to put in our searches but never had any luck. I have heard good reports about the primary school there. Have you done a reccie here, did you get chance to check out schools etc?
If there's anything we can help with let me know.

Thanks for your reply-sorry it's taken a while to respond i'm still finding my way around the site!
Yes we came out for a trip in August and loved wht we saw. The girls have been accepted into Connolly Primary and i'm really pleased because it does look lovely. We also looked at Currambine Primary which was lovely too but Connolly just a feel of their school that they are at at the mo(though not for much longer!) I thought that the suburb that we decided on would determine what school they went to but in fact it has been the other way round which is why i'm looking for accommodadation in and around those areas.
I've heard that Mindarie is lovely also but we didn't get to see it on our trip.Is it far from the suburbs i've been looking at?

Mindarie is only 5 minutes away from Currambine/Connolly. There's a few of us that get together for lunch once a week at Mindarie marina.
