I'm sitting in the UK doing a bit of research of grocery prices etc before going to Perth, to set up a budget - I am really surprised to see how expensive fruit and vegetables are in Australia... To get a box of organic vegetables delivered in Perth is about $50-70, more than double the price of what you'd pay in the UK - and London isn't exactly cheap!!
I'd like to know - is it generally more expensive to do the shopping in Perth, than in the UK? What about other fixed costs - utilities etc?

Hello & Welcome :D

We're not in Perth yet so I cannot answer your grocery query, sorry, but there are plenty of people on here who I'm sure will be able to help.

Kind regards
Karen

We find it a bit cheaper here - the vegetables are of good quality. Variety is excellent. You can save a lot of money if you avoid all processed food - better for health too. But delivery could be expensive - why not pick it up yourself? Our local area has organic products available on the aisle Cost of living is rising, energy in particular. But house prices here are falling, even if a bit slowly. The economic gloom has hit WA too, so be prepared to tighten belts. Which means going for less than premium goods if the costs are extending you. Such as buying non-organic food.
