:Rofl:Hi im looking for a bit of advice. Moving to Perth hopefully in May and just wanting to know if anyone can offer advice as to where would be the best place for work for my better half! Has ARTC cert so would be able to work suppervised (as far as I can gather) but not sure where would be best place to enquire. Thinking of living down in Port Kennedy as prices so much cheaper than up North but if there is more work up North would think again! Any advice is much appreciated as shi**in it about comin!!!:o

Don't be put off by the prices you read about in the northern suburbs.......... it is still very much a buyer's market and there are plenty of bargains to be had if you know where to look?

What sort of a budget are you on?

I'm a plumber by trade but no longer in the industry. I'm located in Carramar which is north of the river................. 10 minutes from Joondalup. I've been here this time round for the last 18 years................ first came over back in 1976 on a holiday from a diamond mine i was working on in Namibia......... or South West Africa as it was called then. Fell in love with Perth and decided to stay.

I'm not plumbing now as I have been selling real estate for the last 10 years .................. I have my own real estate agency which is based in Carramar.

Hopefully your friends will be able to look after you south of the river? I'm somewhat biased insomuch as i prefer to live north of the river; not that there is anything wrong with the south? If you haven't ventured down to this part of the world before............... best to just come on over with an open mind ................. spend a bit of time down south ........... then a few weeks maybe up north ..........then perhaps flip a coin.

I have had so many clients arrive over here content on living down south.......... until they discover what we have to offer up north .......... then their plans are thrown into turmoil as they are pretty rapt with what they find up north.

Jobs should be plentiful for hubby once he has gone through the mountain of red tape pertaining to obtaining his WA electrician's license? Leastways electricians are in big demand according to ads in the paper. My brother-in-law and my nephew are both sparkies with mining companies......... and both reckon they just can't get enough electricians to satisfy demand on the big projects they are involved with?

Good luck.
