Hi everyone

Lookng forward to arriving in Perth later this year - still waiting for the visa.

Both myself and my wife have built up several years of no claims bonus on car insurance. Will this be recognised in Oz?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Certain insurance companies will recognise same.

Western QBE have a scheme whereby they give you insurance against your no claims bonus.................. no matter how many prangs you have.......... and unfortunately we have had more than our fair share in recent years for whatever reason.............. our no claims bonus is still intact.

We have used several insurance companies throughout the last 20 years........... all of which were okay.............. but we find Western QBE to be the best; so much so we have transferred all 5 cars over to them.

When we first arrived the RAC here in Perth recognised my no claims bonus with Garret, Son and Flowerdew which was issued in Preston, Lancashire. RAC were very good and we insured everything with them......... cars, house and contents etc for well over 10 years................... but since we found QBE to be more cost effective.

My partner and I tried every insurance company in Perth to start off with and a few recognise your no claims, but only give you a certain percentage discount as a reflection of this. We eventually insured with Police and Nurses Credit Society who gave me a full 65% discount (equivalent of 5 years no claims). Once you have a recognised percentage discount, you can change if you find a cheaper option.
