Actually you don't need to wait - you can front load your medical now.
Except be aware that you get a year to activate your visa, and this starts from the date or your medical or police check, whichever is earlier.
So it's probably worth waiting until you have your medicals booked before you arrange your police check - as it only takes a couple of weeks.
Here's the link anyway:

Not a problem.
But if you want to feel like you're progressing something, you can always make a start of your Form 80 and 1221 :-)
Also, when you say your application, are you talking about State Sponsorship or your actual 176 visa?
Sounds like a good plan (very impatient I am lol).
I'm going on a 461 (my hubby and kids are NZ citizens), so its a family visa to live and work for 5 years which I can either keep renewing after 5 years or go through the aus citizenship thingy (which looks really in depth).
We are aiming to be there before xmas, so gona start on the paperwork.. :cute:

Oh - in that case I'd double check what paperwork you need - you might not need a 1221 and 80 - I just assume that everyone on here is going on a 176 sometimes :-)
 lol
Yes, I know what you mean, I haven't found anyone going on the same visa as me yet which is a shame as it would be fab to chat to someone...:jiggy:
So far my paperwork requirement is
completed form
the fee (of course)
proof of adequate health care
medical
criminal
certified - passport, birth certificate, hubbys passport, marriage certificate
I'm actually a little nervous as it seems to straight forward and I keep thinking I'm going to find some mystery page that lists the impossible :nah:
