Hi there,
We are considering moving to Perth. My husband is a carpenter/joiner and thus we have been looking at the skilled visas.
An independent skilled visa 175 seems to be what we should be applying for?
How long does this process take?
Im guessing 8-9 months? Is there another temp visa we could apply for that would be quicker and then we could apply for permanent out there?
Any other tradesmen out there? Which route did you take?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards

personally I wouldn't consider going alone when it came to a visa. We used a agent,We wouldn't have got here without them, too many banana skins. I used the Visa Beureau, but there ar many others.

do not i repeat do not use agent. i came here 5 months ago on a skilled visa im a panel beater. download forms off internet its easy. took my 6 months start to finish. an agent will cost a fortune and just hold things up! plus u still have to fill out forms if u use em!

Depends what your looking for, my visa allows me to stay forever, with the full rights of a citizen. I wasn't going to uproot my family for a 457.

thanks for the advice. Presently gathering all the info for the TRA (a nightmare) but hear this is the worst part.
We have decided to do it ourselves. I have an internet business, so feel confident enough filling out the forms. Also got lots of tips online.
Hope we are as lucky and all done in 6 months with be brilliant!!!
Just want to go now.
(Got the superbug in hospital and nearly died last summer, struggling financially ever since. Fedup with this country Ireland!! and now work has got slack and all talk of Recession. Dont want to stick around for that. Had enough).
Living in Perth 9 years ago, and came back reluctantly due to visa. Just cant wait to get there. I just loved everything about the place.
Was previously sponsored before so hope that helps our application.
Kind Regards
Caz
