Can I move if I have Hp on a car and have credit card bill

Hi Guys

Firstly many thanks to all of you for your help so far, this site has been a great help.

I am under pressure to give my company an answer on Wednesday on whether to take the Job in Perth. I really want to but have some exisiting debt like my wifes car is on HP and I have a credit card bill. I have worked out that the salary in Perth is roughly the same as the UK so I am hoping I will be ok. Is there anything I can do with the car? I have read the contract and it says I have to pay at least half of the Outstanding balance.

Just wandered if any of you have had the same experience, this is a great opportunity for me and my family and I do not want something like this to stop us.

Could you not sell the car and pay off the balance, or contact the company the hp is with and explain the situation. I'm sure you could come to some kind of agreement.

I have actually contacted the company and have been advised I can sell and pay off the balance.
