Hi James.
I'm pretty sure everything should work, but it's different voltage so you'll need a travel adaptor, which you can easily get here if need be.
I'm not 100% about DVD players & TVs -we are on the same PAL system (as opposed to the US NTSC system) so it should be okay...
Anyone else??

It is the same voltage - 220 - 250 v. All you need is a plug adaptor. Your TV wont work with terestrial signals but should work with a set top box or satelite. They don't use scart leads here. My advice is bring everything with you that is servicable, things are far more expensive here and often not as up to date as UK (old technology), so you have to be careful.

Oh sorry!! I thought it was different voltage - I'm thinking of the States aren't I? (My hubby is Canadian so we get Pom family & Canadian visiting with their various issues;...I must be getting confused (blonde streaks).. & we always get DVDs sent over we can't play here -from Canada!).
I do know that stuff works from the UK with the standard adaptor - so I got that much right!

Amanda, you may be interested to know that it is very easy to get a DVD "De regionalised" then it will play DVD from anywhere, in the UK it cost me 25 quid to get my Sony done. Most makes can be done for nothing. Type in dvd hack codes on Google and you can get unlocking codes.

Why thank you Greg - that's very handy. I'll give it a go!
