My husband works for 'ford' motor company as a maintance engineer. He has lots of experience and a degree in electronic's.
We have emailed lots of companies, agenices and even the WA government.
We are aged 31yrs & 33yrs. Are married and have 2 small children.
What's the problem? I thought they we're crying out for skilled workers!
Any advice!!!

People aren't interested unless you have a visa in place or at the very least have a firm date and plan for arrival. This is what I have discovered with OZ and NZ, I wasted 2 or 3 years chasing dead ends. My advice is to engage a migration agent and get your visa sorted out independently, we used Visa Bureau in London (excellent for us). They will only take a fee if the are 100% sure they can get you in. I am sure with your ages and qualifications it should be a formality. State sponsorship is a good route. Hope this helps. I am also sure there would be opportunities for him in the mining sector, check out Rio Tinto's website.
