Hi we are currently in the early stages of applying for a visa, and i am writting a statutory decleration at the moment . We have just recieved an e-mail and phonecall telling us that the TRA are changing some regulations regarding the MAP (migration application process) , and our application will be put on hold for approx 1 month, they can give us no more info. I am a fully qualified welder but only did 3 years training rather than the 5 they seem to prefer. I am a little concerned as we have gone down the route of seeling our house first as the impression i got was they were desperate for welders, have i been a bit naive and is this normall for the TRA to behave like this. Can anyone put my mind at rest , many thanks

Have you thought about looking for an employment sponsorship as a plan B?

No do you think this is a route i need to take , have been adviced by other forum users that this is not a good idea as i will be tied in to a contract and on less money "their are loads of welding jobs so just apply when you get over here".But if this is the only route possible then thats what i will do. thanks.

Its better if you can get here under your own steam, but there are a lot of people here on 457 visas, I just thought, for you, as a plan B, as you are already so far down the road.
