hi every one, debbie and dave here with 10 yr old daughter laura, we joined PIO last week and have found the site helpful and friendly, but as we are heading for perth thought we would introduce our selves here as well. recently sent skills assessment off to nursing council so we are still at the begining of the journey. dave will be looking at joining the WA police force once we get over there, anyhelp and advice greatly received. debs

G'day
This is a very quiet site and most of us are on PIO as well. I know that the host of Poms In Oz would like to move some of the stuff away to this site but it just doesn't seem to happen - we all wanna play in the big pool.

Hi Debbie and Dave,
Just to let you know that there seems a real back log with the nurses board at the moment. My husband sent his modified assessment to them over 10 weeks ago and still hasn' been returned. :( Supposed to take 6-8 weeks. Very annoying as it seems that permanent residency visas are being processed pretty quick on the whole at the moment, and can't send it until we have this through.
If you are looking at Perth you could also try Poms in Perth and Emi-great sites as these are good for research (if you haven't already).
Best of luck

Jac,
Thanx for your reply. Yes I would like some advice. I am 46 and having spent 23 years in the army joined the police 5 years ago and I am traffic/firearms officer. I am a little unsure as what I will need to do to join once in Oz. Debs is Critical care nurse and under 45, just! We will be going on her quals, not mine so any info on joining police, quals reqd etc would be greatful,
Many thanks.
Also anyone reading this who knows Pete/Paula Taylor from Leeds please contact me (my Brother)!
