Just a quick update on some forum statistics for anyone who's interested. As you'll see from the stats, the forum is attracting more and more visitors each month. The challenge is though, to get visitors to register and become members and then to get members to post on the forum. It's heartening to see the forum grow though as it can be easy to become despondent ...
Had to install a minor update to the forum software which corrects a few bugs. Unfortunately, the 'update' caused some issues with the custom template we use. If anyone experiences any problems or notices anything wrong whilst using the forum, please let me know. Thanks. Rob
Unable to spend much time on the forum this week as I've been upgrading our sister site - Poms in Adelaide. The PIA upgrade had one or two hiccups, so took longer than expected. Touch wood, all seems to be ok now through. That means that PerthPoms, PomsinAdelaide, LifeinQueensland, LifeinVictoria and BritsAbroad are all now running on the latest version of the forum software, leaving only our biggest site - Poms in Oz, still to upgrade. I'll probably upgrade Poms in Oz late August / early Sept as ...
Added a new welcome block on the homepage which will display to guests. A bit more eye catching. One or two other minor fixes as well.
Added social share buttons (Facebook, Twitter & Google+1) to the homepage and to the top of threads. (Please feel free to share, like or bookmark the forum and help spread the word!) While doing the upgrade I noticed that some groups had been created in the past, so I've added a 'Groups' button on the menu. Not sure if the forum's busy enough at the moment to support the use of groups, but the facility is there if anyone wants to use them. Removed the forum software branding ...
