Finding the right School.......Help!

Thanx Arwen , thats the one thing i was desperate to find out , my oldest child would be about to start academy after summer in uk , in oz he goes back to year 6 which can only be agood thing as hes the youngest in the class so thats helped heaps .....that would give him a better chance of meeting friends before going on to academy ...yeah you are so right about differences and im going to embrace them not compare ....lol thanx again for that info

Yes we had quite heavy snow on Thursday but all gone now, think there is more snow forecast for Sunday so we will wait and see!!

I hope everything works out well for you and you are able to get there in April, then you can share how you are getting on pls :))

NO still undecided on what area we like, as like some parts of NOR and some SOR, so went back to looking at schools again and even that is causing a headache lol!!!

Might have to phone Phil from relocation relocation ;))

In the same boat! We live in east Renfrewshire which has some of the best high schools in Scotland! Terrified of making a mistake! Anyone from Mearns or Clarkston now in Perth, can you let me know your experience and of course any advice?

Hello, I am in the same position. We are hopefully moving to Perth Oct//Nov 2012, we have our visas, just need to rebuild our bungalow and sell. We are coming with three children aged 13, 11 and 8 at the time of our move and I am absolutely petrified we are going to make a mistake with their schools. At the moment I live in walking distance to our high school and primary school and am scared that the new schools will be so far apart from each that I cant get them all there. My husband thinks I am mad and that it will all work out, but I am the one who will be doing all the school runs. Again I have my "I am so excited I want to go tomorrow days" and the other "What on earth am I thinking" days. The good thing is from what I gather, there are always lots of English people going over so the kids will hopefully be able to make friends with lots of other children and may be have more friends in Perth than they do in the UK as they will have one big thing in common. Good luck with your move and let us know how you get on with the schools and your new life in general.

We are also from lanarkshire and hoping to move over the next 3-4 months to Perth area, just waiting on formal job offer for my husband. My son has just turned 9 so trying to work out schools, areas, etc.
Would be great to hear any information/advice you have.
