Woodvale Primary and Woodvale Senior High

      Hi,

My 3 children are starting at Woodvale primary (boy aged 6 year 2) and Woodvale high (boy year 8) and (girl year 12), and I just wondered if anyone else was in a similar situation!? Just thought it would be good to hook up before they start if anyone is in need of a familiar face when they start school.
We are living in Woodvale just near the Boulevard.

      Cheers, Clarebear

Hi, we are hoping to move to the Woodvale area later this year. How are your children finding the schools? My daughter will be nearly 9 when we arrive and my son is 12. Would you recommend the Woodvale area to live? Sorry for asking lots of questions. It would be good to get some advice. Thank you.

      Hi,

Yes Woodvale is great. About 10 mins drive to the beach, nice little shopping
      centres etc
My children have only done a few days but seem to be doing ok
they miss the uk very much and would prob go back tomorrow
      if they could.
What year is your son in at the moment ? If he's 1st year at high school
then he will be in primary until Dec 2012, which would make making
friends easier x your daughter should be fine at that age, the schools are
nice but vert strict on catchment areas.
Feel free to ask me any more questions and all the best with it all x

      Hi Clarebear,

Thank you very much for replying. My son is in first year at the moment (he has only just turned 12 in January) so he would have to go back to primary school for a few months. As you said it would be easier for him to make friends and would not do him any harm. Woodvale sounds like the place we are looking to live. Thanks for all your help.

      Hi Clarebear

If you are renting in Woodvale can I ask if it was really difficult to secure a rental.

How are the children settling in?

We really liked the look of Woodvale when we were over and popped into the high school and the staff were really helpful considering we didn't have an appointment.
