When I was in South Africa I got called a ' Soutie' (you really dont want to know what this means)
We used to grow courgettes and aubergines in our garden. Here they are called zucchini and eggplant respectively and ladies fingers are okra.
Am loving this thread - very amusing and helpful! My favourite Aussie expression is 'Don't come the raw prawn' i.e. don't get angry but do they really use it much out there? If they don't then I'm gonna revive it when I get out there!
