I live in the foothills(forrestfield)...are you talking about Kalamunda shopping mall..which is tiny!!!!! I have never been to rottnest..the sea journey has always put me off..gets choppy out of freo.....welcome to the summer...been hot ...I love it hear....welcome

Yeah Kalamunda shopping centre :) it is very small but some bargains to be had :) still getting used to the shopping malls... well actually no I'm still following the wife around shops and nodding aha aha! when ever she makes eye contact, so not that much has changed form the UK lol

Glad to hear it's all going well for you, think going with the right attitude is important. We got granted our 176 PR visa last year and visited Perth in September on a fact finding holiday. We all really loved the place and found the people very friendly and helpful and it seemed like a great place for children. Now that we are making our arrangements to travel over later this year it's reassuring to hear the positive experiences people have had.

Hi guys, just had to tell someone! we've been in Perth WA for 3 weeks now, Found a lovely place up in the hills walked into the local mall sorted house phone, mobile phone and internet contracts within 30 mins, My wife has been offered a part time job cooking a BBQ on a boat that sails to Rottnest island and I've been offered a job in my local garage just 3 minuets walk from our new home! SOME ONE PINCH ME!

After all the horror stories we have read about rentals, phone contracts and jobs being so hard to come-by. All I can say is in our experience, come over with the right frame of mind, be willing to chat and put yourself out a little and Australia will offer you so much! And did you know theres "mates rates" on everything here! our food and drink bill has fallen by 30% just by befriending our local show owners :)

Only thing that's a little perplexing is "Christmas songs" in 37c heat! very strange!!!

kalamunda is a lovely place !!! and i think there's only one hol let if it is its where we stated all is good there land lady very helpful, give us a mail when you get here know some cool places with some good beers !!!
