      Question Rheumatoid Arthritis

      Hi,
Does anyone know if Rheumatoid Arthritis could prevent us from getting a visa approved? Our migration agent has asked me to find out what i can on how much of a strain i will be on the Oz healthcare system. But i dont know where to begin. Any fellow sufferers out there who can give me some advice???

      Thanks xxx

Hi there, did you manage to find any information out? My wife has arthritis so we are in the same boat at the moment.

Hi Rob, i managed to gather up some info. If your wife is on general meds like myself (I am on methotrexate) and the disease is under control and only requires the odd hospital check up then she should be fine. If however it is progressing aggressively then it may be looked into more. Get your wife to ask for a letter from her rheumatologist about how her arthritis is being controlled and a list of meds she is taking etc, so that when these questions start arising she has all the info she needs without any delays. I have spoken to people with arthritis who gained a visa and they are now living it up in Oz. Hope this helps a bit.
