Will we need a new TV?

Hi all, this is probably a silly question but hey ho! Our TV has just died, so was wondering if we get a lovely shiny one with free view and all the bells and whistles, Will it still work in Australia or do we get a bog standard one to tide us over til we make the move? Thanks for any advice!!

It will work, but in all likelihood, to receive the digital free to air stations, you'd have to buy a cheap external set top box (eg: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/players-recorders/teac/teac-hdb850-hd-set-top-box/87484/) Although digital free to air channels in the UK are called 'freeview' and they're collectively called 'freeview' in Australia, the two systems aren't compatible.

We brought 3 TV's over, a Toshiba, a Sony and my Sons Disney Cars Truck TV and all 3 have digital Freeview tuners and work perfectly well with Freeview here, in fact the Toshiba picks up 3 times as many channels as the Samsung we bought here!
