16/17 year olds arriving NOR in Dec?????

Just trying to persuade my daughter to join the forum! Any teenagers out there who are using this forum? Thought I'd get her to join if there is.

Hi Clare my daughter is 16 and hates the very thought of moving to Oz.
She will be restarting year 11 again in February and will need all the friends she can get if she is going to settle, although she wont even talk to anyone on the forums. She laughs at me having 'internet friends' saying it is weird and creepy
Cheeky mare haha.
We will also be heading North so should meet up and get them together for shopping and cinema nights away from the 'oldies' lol.

He looked at going to a TAFE (College) in Jandakot, he made enquiries and we were shocked as I was on a 457 Visa my son would be treated as an overseas student and he would have to pay for the tuition, no problem we said ignorantly, how much ! $50,000.00 over 3 years $15,000.00 just for the first year


As we coulndt sell the house we are going over on a tight budget, so those sort of fees are out of the question, but the dilemma got worse, as I am on a 457 visa, he wont qualify for an apprenticeship either, he wants to do engineering, mayby follow me into aircraft engineering, I will try get him a job as a junior with me, I have a mate in Aus well connected in the industry, he said not to worry.


He's not on here, I will try get him to join if you get your daughter to join, so he has someone to talk to

Cool Mandi, have you decided on a school yet? We don't know if Simone will be doing year 11 or 12, the schools have said it will depend on how much credit she has from her GCSEs... Simone is slowly coming round to the idea, I think! I will try and get her on here...

Flippin heck, HOW MUCH!!! I guess we are lucky to have 176 then, otherwise she wouldn't be going to school in Oz...

Sorry jumping in here, my son is 16 and not keen on moving. Coming to Butler for 3 weeks in Feb and trying to arrange school visits. It is so difficult as he doesn't know what he wants to do never mind if it is school, TAFE, apprenticeship etc. He is doing highers here but would probably have to go into year 11 next year if we go.

We are looking to move to Perth in August 2012, after my daugher has completed her GCSEs. She will be 16yr when we go but at the moment is adamant she is not going.
I suggested she come on here to chat to other teenagers but not interested. My 12 year son is up for the move and really wants to go. This has made things really difficult about whether we go or not.
