  1. Thanks Nancy. Have just been looking at Go Matilda & saw they did a first free consultation, so might give them a ring in the morning
  2. Well it seems like 5mins ago that hubby said he had a job in Perth (it was actually Feb) & now we have our 457s through!! Wow! Not quite sure I've got my head around it yet. So he's off to Perth around 10 July. I'm still wondering whether to apply for 190 for myself but can't make head or tail of anything I've read about it. We asked migration person who had done the 457s through his employer but she said they didn't do 190s so couldn't help, but have a look at this link http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/190.aspx. Maybe it's me but it might as well be in Chinese. If there anyone you can just ask about these things without having to pay them money?
  3. Hi Nikki I think it can depend on how good the hypnotherapist is & how much u want it to work. It's good to know I'm not the only one as bad though. Good luck for hubby! My husband's friend is in Perth at mo having quit the police here to go there with his gf. We thought he'd transferred to WA police but apparently not. My daughter's also 4, she talks about going to Aus but not sure how much she understands. My son's 9 & looking forward to it, tho he's got a great life & friends here. He thinks we're only going for a year tho. Who knows, we might be! ;-) x
  4. The 457 is for all of us I believe, him, me & the kids so I can work out there. Thanks for the tip. He's got a migration agent through his employer so we'll ask them. How much has the 190 application cost you, or your friend?
  5. Hi Nikki, I totally know where you're coming from on this one. Yes it did help a bit but I'm not very easy to hypnotise apparently. At the time when I rang to make my first appt I couldn't even tell her what it was for without sobbing hysterically down the phone. I didn't have that many sessions tbh, maybe 6 but then I was able to buy a Spiderman toy for my son for xmas. That was a big deal believe me. I've been to Aus twice and probably spent about 6 wks there in total. I've got to say I was very surprised, it wasn't like I'd expected/dreaded. I saw one relatively normal small-ish one on each trip & that was it. I'm going to buy the Paul McKenna download off his site aswell, I think that's about £30. And anything else I can find! How come you've decided to go over there then and how old are your daughters? Are they looking forward to it?
  6. No we've currently got a 457 going through for the family with my husband as main applicant. He should be going over next month, with us following a few months behind. I want to work out there and think I might be able to apply for a 190 as a HR Advisor but I can't wait a whole year to go. (I have no understanding of any of this yet really so pls bear with me)
  7. I have no idea what all those things on your timeline really mean but is that a realistic length of time to be waiting for a 190?
  8. What have I started now with this bridge? It's all I hear in work lol. A friend lives in Frodsham and is obsessed with all bridge news & updates. I swear it's enough to make him want to emigrate too.
  9. Hi Kayli, it's in Lower Gronant (Prestatyn). My Mum's side of the family come from Wales Where are you heading out to? x
  10. That's what worries me Pete, not having the constant banter. Have lived in a few different places before and have always missed the natural humour & come back. There's supposed to be 100,000 scousers in Perth though, so shouldn't be too hard to find some sarky git
  11. My husband's company have said they will sponsor him for PR after 2 years (providing he's still with them of course). I'm guessing here Cat but I think if you're willing to pay for it yourself you can apply for PR straight away.
  12. I've just read that immi booklet 6 which was helpful thanks
  13. Thanks a lot verystormy! A minefield for sure. I knew about the school fees so would be great to avoid them, but didn't know about the 90 days & me not being so desirable to employers. I'll look into the 190 now thanks. Couldn't make any sense of what I read yesterday. Do you know if I can go for that even if I've already been issued a 457 though? PS. No sign of Paddington. ...intrigued
  14. Thanks for that, I'll google it. Not heard of that visa. It's all very confusing when you're starting out isn't it.
  15. Hi, my husband has been offered a job in Perth and his 457 application is currently being processed by his new employer. It also includes me & our 2 kids. I believe there's a backlog but this should be through in a few weeks. Someone mentioned I could possibly go out on a different visa of my own as a skilled occupation in demand. I've looked at the migration.wa.gov website and it also sent me to VETASSESS but I've got to say I haven't got a clue what it all means! It's mentioning 190 and 489 but then I think it's saying you already need to have been offered a job to go out on one of these? Is anyone able to shed any light on this visa-speak please? And anyway, if I'm already presumably getting a 457, can I get a different one anyway & is there any point? (Other than not having to pay school fees). Thank yooooo patient people x
