Thanks for all comments folks and yes Steven_gers I started very early part time (Saturday mornings) thanks to my old man who is also highly skilled in my trade. I enjoyed secondary school and although a good and positive approach in my education I never really had a goal for my future my dad could see this and introduced me to the trade, he started by introducing gas welding to me I had to fabricate a 16 guage mild steel box 100 high 50x50 angle bent on pan folder with a cap on the end fill it with water and watch it leak lol, after a dozen attempts I cracked it and I knew instantly this is what I want to do hence why I'm here today in the trade.

Hi I wondered if anybody on this site could give me a little advise on a serious thought on moving to perth, I am 36 years of age and my wife is 32 we have two young girls and the thought of moving to perth is very desirable. I am a plater welder with 22 years experience and my wife a travel consultant, I have gained a lot of skills over the years pipe fitting, welding, structural steel, etc I wondered if there is still call for british skills and is there a good recruitment site i could post my CV I would be looking for sponsorship any advise would be very much appreciated.
