  1. We used Perth furnished rentals- very good, also oz house rentals are used a lot.
  2. The unfurnished market has changed quite a bit in the last 4 weeks, a lot more availability than has been for a while. I think 4-6 weeks is plenty of time to research and find your area for long term.
  3. I cannot wait for proper thick chips, and real mushy peas! you are going to be right on my doorstep (Kinross). we would be take home customers.
  4. I think within the last year there was a peak of 1500 people arriving in Perth think its still around the thousand mark now. I think the jobs market is becoming tougher.

    Presents

What you have put I am going through now! According to 1 sister and I think the other thinks the same, it's me that has upped sticks and left the family, without a care in the world for mum and dad, me that has cut the ties, me that's the hard person. This from a sister that gets a nose bleed if she travels any more than arms length from her house, she lives probably an 8 min drive from my parents the other a 2 minute walk to the next street. So we have decided that we won't do presents and the way things are at the moment I'd be surprised if we did cards or even communicated again. So sad.

Sarah, we are finding great thanks just picked ourselves up and put ourselves perfectly loving everything about it, until 24 hrs ago when family members decided to change what was agreed and not bother with innocent children. jackboots I correct myself it's nearly 9 months! And as you can have probably just read we settled perfectly! Seems like we will end up doing nothing!

It seems to me they don't want to do anything just wait till we go over. The joke of it is my wife has bought something on their behalf whilst out shopping before gave them present to wrap and they gave her the money I don't see any difference!

So we have been in Australia 8 months and its now approaching my 2 daughters birthdays 2 and 4. We have been in touch with my sisters back in the uk to see what we are going to do we suggested us buying the presents here and them putting money in our uk account, and them buying there and us putting money in their account but they don't want to do that as it seems meaningless? And would prefer to wait till we go over and them buy something then which could be 2yrs of Christmas and birthdays in the meantime children do without anything. One sisters children have just been given money as requested for the last don't know how many years! The other sister says its difficult to maintain a relationship when we are this far away but surely the relationship is just going to get worse if all the kids get is a card and no presents from what could be made a big thing of getting something from family on the other side of the world! What have you done and thoughts please! Paul
  10. I love going to Moore river where river meets the ocean beautiful scenery, golden river shallow at edge great for kids to play in wide beach and gorgeous turquoise ocean.

    Hello...

Hi Lola, Welcome to PP! I think everybody that has already made the move has had the thoughts that you are thinking now, however I think if you don't do it your never going to know its a cliche but true! All I would say is do plenty of research and some more and if it stacks up give it a go! Don't the cost of living put you off as the wages generally take care of that and it is comparative to the uk. I would advise though that you would need a salary of at least 2.25+ what you earn in the uk this is not a conversion but a figure of what will be required in Australia to live the lifestyle you are accustomed to. We have been here 8 months and love it! Best of luck! Paul.
  12. Hi, I would join up with NSRG for the weekend runs, and you will get o know people I think quite a few of the guys live in Kingsley so some will no doubt be running at other times and you could meet up.
  13. Hi, We have been here 4 months right on your doorstep in Kinross. We are from Long Eaton! Paul.
