  3. Thanks for organising it, Deb, it was great to hear other people's experiences. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Bookmarking. We've been in Perth just over a year.
  5. I agree, it's really difficult for newcomers to find work. We've been here just over a year and finally last week DH secured a permanent position.
  6. We used Europcar last time we were over, but didn't really shop around much
  7. I'm the same. We're moving in three weeks and I just want it all packed now!!
  8. Thanks, Chall, I'm not sure I have to do the AITSL bit as I already have a visa, but I'll check it out to make sure.
  9. Hi Scot01, thanks for replying. Phew! My degree was four years and I did teaching practice a couple of times at least on each of those years. It's a BA Hons in Education with QTS.... Does that make a difference?
  10. Hi I hope that someone can help? I am a primary school supply teacher (qualified 1995) who is planning to move to WA next year. We have our visa and my husband is the main applicant, so so far I haven't had to do anything in the process and haven't had my skills assessed. I have no teaching experience outside the UK. I'm now looking into what I need to do in order to teach in WA. So far the way I see it is that I need to apply to TRBWA for non-practising registration. This involves filling in the form and getting a letter from my university stating my name, the name of my course of study (I did a BA Hons in Education), the minimum length of the course incl. enrolment and completion dates and a list of all the subjects I studied and marks. Is there any other information I need to provide? I've read that I would need to include dates of my teaching practices so that I can prove I've done x-many days? This might be a bit tricky as I qualified nearly 20 years ago (aghh!!) and the college where I trained is now under a different university. Would I also need to include references from the schools I currently work in? Is there anything else that might be useful? Or anything else I need to do before I can teach in WA? Thank you in advance Kath
  11. Hi Levi The spreadsheet was started on the Poms in Oz thread here: http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/151471-176-lodged-june-2012-a.html. Vazagothic, Wendy Thorp and dazmatazz are the admins for the spreadsheet and they can add you. The people on it can't be contacted via the spreadsheet, but you could look through the thread and get in touch with them that way.
  12. Hi Mark I am surprised youve not heard anything yet. We applied for a state sponsored 176 visa on 15th June and were assigned a case officer about a month later. They requested meds and police checks and our visa was granted on 30th July. This is a spreadsheet of others who applied in June - those in red have received their visas https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtjmLt4bD4fJdGstYU9ZcHJJRUJHV05GSXRHUXdNY2c#gid=0 Have you been assigned a case officer yet? Have they requested police checks and medicals? Once they're submitted it seems it doesn't take too long. I would definately be asking your agent what's going on. If you have a transaction reference number (TRN) - your agent will have one if your visa application has been submitted - you can check the progress of your application here https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/inquiry/query/query.do?action=eVisa. It tells you what they've received and what is still outstanding. If they're getting on with it, it will say 'processing commenced'. Hope this helps
