travelchic
Hi there. Have sent my skills assessment docs to ANMAC and haven't heard anything. Do they normally let you know that they have received them or do they only contact you if they need further info. I sent them almost 2 weeks ago. I am not panicking. Just wondered. natalie28
hi Debs I sent my skills assesment off about 2-3 weeks ago and received an email a couple of days ago stating they have received it and that it could take up to 12 weeks to be assessed. Hope this helps! Natalie

Pipmcrae
No but just wondered if the process was all the same
nikkiwd
No but just wondered if the process was all the same you should check whether your occupation is on the SOL on the immi.gov.au website. if it is then there will be the body which assesses your occupation written next to it. for example some trades are assesed by TRA, some by Vetasses and so on. once you find the assessing body then look on their individual website for the process you will need to go through. travelchic
Do you plan on going perm or temp? Are you going alone or as a couple/family? Do you have a skill/ profession? Do you have relatives in Perth? There are lots of different visas available. Have you looked at www.immi.gov.au. The visa wizard can help you decide which visa best suits you. If you know what type of visa you are applying for then someone can give you advice. You don't always need a profession. You could go on a Working Holiday Visa for 12 months. You could come as a student or you could come with skills needed to migrate perm. Hope this helps. travelchic
Ok. So I heard from ANMAC today. They have received my assessment docs and are happy with everything except my transcript. I sent a copy of the original transcript that I received when I qualified. They say they want hours spent in theory and practice which it doesn't state on my transcript. I don't understand what else can be sent if they have received the orig doc. Will have to call the Uni tomorrow and see what they say. I am looking out of the window onto the garden and my money tree has disappeared. Humf.... Debs

travelchic
Thankyou pea. I have an addictive personality. Can't help myself. Bit like a dog with a bone ha ha. Have a problem with uni. I started my course as a Liverpool student but took a break to have my son. Then when I returned, the uni I was at (Chester) had achieved university status, and the curriculum had changed. I was stuck in the middle. Had to study on the new curriculum but also had to qualify with the University of Liverpool as that's whom I started with. Getting transcript info will pose a problem is what I was told when I called. Aaarrrrgggghhhhh. (Pulling out my hair). So I sent a letter, pleading, begging, and basically offering to do anything inc coming into uni to teach student nurses a skill. Fingers crossed it works. Tell ya something, if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck. Fact. Debs

Surely if you have a recognised qualification they can provide details of what you studied. This has got to work out for you; I have everything crossed x

Bet you are chuffed. I will be if I can just pass this sodding IELTS with 8's lol. I have e-mailed NMC asking them to send off my transcript. They must have one that mentions hours spent in theory and practice because I couldn't qualify without said hours of theory and practice. On a plus point, ex hubby has signed all docs for me to allow me to take Jonny with me. Felt a bit sad to be honest, and a bit sorry for him and really had to try hard to keep the smile from my face pmsl. Oh dear...... Monkeylloyd
Hi debs, I can imagine it must be difficult to face your ex with the paperwork. I'm glad that's worked out for you. Good luck with the NMC. Have they charged you for that transcript. Makes you wonder what we pay £100.00 per year for? It's such a strange feeling when you get that confirmation. You will love it. Makes it worth the wait. Where are you wanting to head to? Any ideas?x
travelchic
Don't think NMC charge for it. I just clicked on a link on their website and completed a form. Not sure where I am headed yet. Have had some interest from a private hospital in Mt Lawley. Asked me to contact them on arrival so that's a start. Where about are you hoping to head to. Monkeylloyd
Not too sure, my husband is an electrician so it may depend on his job prospects! Wow well one on already getting interest on a job. Have you already being sending your cv? I haven't done anything yet to look for a job.x. We are not too far from you! Near Chester.x
travelchic
I am in endoscopy so it's quite a specialised field. I don't just assist doctors I doing diagnostic scopes though. I assist in ERCP's, peg insertions and emergency oesophageal bleeds. So I have a lot of skills in my field. Apart from day case surgery that's all I've done though so not sure i could work on a ward lol. I just contacted the hospital directly as that one in particular has an endoscopy unit as oppose to doing endoscopy in theatre. Will contact a couple more before I move though. Do you work in Chester then? Debs Edited June 4, 2013 by travelchic
