      An excellent migration agent

      Well we are here!! finally!
After several years of trying we decided to use an agent to help us with our application. We were living in Spain and struggling to find our way through the minefield of hoops that it seemed we would never be lucky enough to get here. Eventually we decided to use an agent in WA rather than a brit based one, figured the Australian agents would be more up to date with the legislation etc, luckly we found New Life Down Under
First off we liked the name, after all thats what we were after!

Then we contacted them and the lady there was so helpful we had been in contact with a couple of others (no name no pack drill!!) but they didn't seem either as helpful or as knowledgable as Camilla at new life down under.

Camilla has a degree in migration law and located near to the DIAC offices, she found a couple of things we didnt know and with her help we were successful! S

Settling into our new home in Roleystone amd looking forward to our new life down under!!.

      Life is good!

Welcome to PP, so glad to hear you had a good experience, there are a few agents who have excellent reps on here and our sister sight of Poms in Oz. I look forward to your contributions of life in WA - I work in Armadale so am familiar with the Rolystone area.

      Hi MacFish

When did you start using the services of the magic migration agent called Camilla, please?

      Thanks

      Hello Jill
Can I say firstly that my username is Marfish and not Macfish, whilst I do have Scottish heritage I am not Mac "anybody".
      Anyway that aside!
I spoke with Camilla in Sept/Oct last year, I think she had just set up her business then. We had a lengthy conversation and in fact she pretty much interrogated me with all of the questions she asked!
In the end she advised me to do my own application as I could apply for citizenship by descent and she said it would be just as easy for me to do it by myself, which I did!
I just needed some facts researched which she did for me. She charged me for her time in researching my application, which I thought was fair enough. No other agent even realised that I had a chance of claiming citizenship, but I suppose they didn’t ask as many questions. Maybe because she’s a new agent she has some up to date knowledge and the time to look after people!
She’s certainly not magical, but her advice did help and she didn’t try and rip me off like some others.
Hope this helps you with your application etc.

      Hi Marfish

I'm sorry I got your name wrong. My own name is Gill, not Jill, so that makes two of us.

I've been chatting with Camilla in Private Messages, behind the scenes, in the last couple of days. I like her as a person and I am impressed by how conscientious she evidently is. Plus I think the fees she has listed on her website are middle-of-the-road. They're not the cheapest but I believe that Camilla would go the extra mile to ensure that she earns them, so I wouldn't quarrel with her about the fees.

Citizenship is a funny one. Registered Migration Agents are actually required to get their brains round the basics of Citizenship Law, which is not a difficult subject. However, there is no money in it for the Agent who specialises in Citizenship because it is so easy that people can do their Citizenship applications by themselves. So RMAs usually duck out of getting involved with Citizenship issues even though that isn't the most helpful attitude that they could adopt. Good for Camilla that she made the effort on your behalf, I say - and she told you the truth, which was that you could easily deal with it on your own.

I'm always suspicious when I see eulogies of the type that you posted because it nearly always turns out that the person chuntering about the brilliance of Bloggs RMA is (a) an Australian Citizen who doesn't even need a visa and (b) the eulogist is employed by Bloggs RMA. Also, there are only about 50 RMAs who really specialise in looking after clients from the UK and I know most of them, am in touch with them etc. It is always the case that I've never heard of Bloggs RMA and eulogies on public forums are unlikely to impress me - I've been around for long enough to have seen it before. I've exposed dozens of these essentially dishonest scammers in my time and I have got rid of both the scammer and his/her principal Bloggs RMA. The activity is dishonest so they both deserve to cop it from me!

Camilla has assured me that you are genuine, though, so that is OK. You weren't to know that a Dragon stalks around these forums from time to time, neither was Camilla!

      Cheers

      Gill

      Hello Gill
Sorry about the mis-spelling, I have a sister Jill and it just came automatically.
As far as you being a dragon, I wouldn't have said that, just conscientious and thats no bad thing!

      Hi Marfish

No worries about my name. I usually respond to "Hey, you" just as readily as to anything else!

As I said, I was sceptical about Camilla to start with because I'd never heard of her before and because I tend to be savage towards RMAs and their employees if I catch them running less-than-ethical scams on the forums.

However, having got to know Camilla myself now, I agree with you. Her sincerity shines out like a beacon and I'd trust her to go the extra mile for her clients. One can't ask for anything much more and I reckon that she would earn every penny of her fees, so you and I agree about that.

      Cheers

      Gill
