      Money on cards

      Moving to au but have about £6000 on 3 different credit cards I would pay them off but my house wont sell what will happen if I just go and rent the house will I have a bad credit in au

      The short answer is no, as there's no link between your credit record in the UK & Australia. However, there are other factor to consider, not least being that you'd be stitching yourself up if you ever wanted/needed to return to the UK. Plus, as the debt would eventually be passed/sold to debt collection agencies, you're not going to get any peace of mind with it always hanging over you. Personally, I'd look at negotiating Individual Voluntary Arrangements with the credit card companies and pay them off, even if it takes years. It shouldn't be too much trouble to make payment from Australia (& the exchange rates will be in your favour when sending payments back to the UK). In the long run it will give you less stress that the debt accruing in your absence, ccj's being issued in your absence etc.
