[QUOTE=nadia and scott;25966]Hi paul, its really straight forward you need to have your visa sticker put in your passport, you can either do this at australia house in london or at 836 wellington street west perth 6005, it took 5 mins. The drivers license requires this and 2 forms of ID inclusive of medicare card and bank card. will let you know how that goes. Where are you locating to?[/Q

Thanks to your helpful info, I went to Australia House in central London today and had our visa stuck in my passport. It even gave me the last opportunity to walk across the River Thames and take in the wonderful views of this incredibly busy megacity. We leave London next week. Perth, here we come!

I'm coming to Australia with my wife and 2 girls but we're landing in Brisbane first to visit my parents and brothers family. I have a WA SS visa so after a couple of weeks I'll be heading over to Perth by myself. We have limited funds, so my wife and kids will stay in Brisbane until I find work and a house to rent. I have temporary accomodation organised in Kalamunda with a family friend. I haven't really got any preference for any suburb, but probably NOR and depends where I find work. Hopefully it'll go well and the girls won't have to wait too long before they come over to Perth. I'm feeling pretty confident. We're all very excited for our new beginnings ...

There are loads of new builds happening up in butler. My husband is a tiler / plasterer and he has said for you to look on gumtree under constuction as there are jobs advertised there. Everyone we have spoke to so far has been lovely and helpfull.

We are visiting Comet Bay College when we validate in February. It seems to be it has improved greatly since new headmaster came in.

Clarkson. How do you think of the area? What are the good and bad points?

hi there, we were only there for 3 weeks. there are some nice parts and some not so nice parts. Some of the houses are very close together with little or no garden space. It doesnt have the best reputation. Our friends daughter went to the high school there for a day and ended up in tears!! pupils swearing at teachers and smoking drugs. It does offer a railway station and bus station. The house prices seem to be cheaper there though. hope this is of help. like i said we were only there for 3 weeks we are now in quinns rocks, which is lovely.
