May Day May Day air con kapputt!

Oh for the love of all things holy, the air con has chosed to pack in this week when its going to be over 40c all week, I feel a panic coming on. Ive sent in a maintenace request but still no news, bought some fans but we are still melting. Our all but finished house is sat there with its brand new state of the art air con, and we cant get in wheres the crying symble ? Ive even had to switch from my beloved white wine to pear cider No pool and landlord wont allow a paddling pool so theres nothing for it, I reckon we are going to have to camp out at the Estate Agents air conned office until its fixed I just went and had a shower with only cold water and it was warm, any tips on keeping cool without mod cons?

I'm in the same boat as yourself, was standing under the ducted air con in the kitchen last night for relief when.... silence happened.... the thing just stopped working!! There's power at the unit and the control unit and display is working but no air is being sent through the ducts its was 29deg in my bedroom last night at 11pm!!
If my landlord doesn't get it fixed before the weekend I reckon I'll spend 2full days fighting with my dog over whose turn it is in the bathtub filled with ice cubes

least you have AC, our house doesnt have any!! We're going to sleep in the car in the garage with the AC on if this continues, we've only been here since last Thursday!

Oh no JaynBev you really have had a baptism of fire, literally, its not normally anywhere near as bad as this, make sure though when you do get a long term rental make sure it does have air con it does make a huge difference when it works!
Catnoehughes, I dont know what to say, except, yep the cold bath sounds good, lol. The EA got back to us yesterday and said they are going to sort it out, well nothing today, tomorrow is Australia day and then well its the weekend, cant see it being fixed anytime soon. Our rental house is actually on the market, bet they wont be sending anyone around to have a look this weekend !

I got a call from the EA today to say somebody would be in touch with me to fix it, so far no phone call and like you say tomorrow is Australia Day.....
I'm going to K-Mart after work to buy a kids paddling pool

Pop cold water soaked wet tea towels over the fans on full blast as squeeze the excess from them first , keep all you windows and blinds locked down and wear a sarong no clothes if you can get away with it ... failing that camp out at the beach :)

Im already walking around the house in a strapless dress, bra less, not a pretty sight at my age and weight but hey needs must. The man is coming out on Friday to take a look, I actually feel sorry for him going up on that roof, it must be horrendous! Someone has just told me that its official Secret Harbour has reached 41c at 3pm, it doesnt actually feel any hotter though than it did this morning when it was 36c, it just sounds scary when you go over 40c. Hot is hot afterall. Im off to the cinema tonight in Mandurah and their aircon is fab so a bit of relief. Thanks for the suggestions x

Im hiding ... ya begger its a scorcher i keep going from pool and house fans .. strangely enough i havn't got my aircon on just all the ceiling fans and all shut down blinds windows etc lets hop its fixed asap cath , saturday is suppoed to be the hottest day of the week
