Hi there!! I'm living in mandurah at the moment. It's very friendly & family orientated. The beaches are beautiful and there is lots of playgrounds for kids!! We live on the canals in halls head, which is stunning!! There are lots & lots of bars & restaurants & cafes. Erm.... Not sure what else ud like to know! What's ur situation? Single? Kids? Age? Might b easier to work out if ud like it or not. The town is usually quite busy and lots of little festivals of firework displays 2etc! :)
MANDURAH has a 2 pronged life style, it still has the country town feel, even though it has been classed as a city for a good many years now. It has more than 20 suburbs in itself, and even though years ago it was classed as a retirement place, it has as many younger families as older ones as well. A lot of people from various parts of our *bush* towns have bought property, rented said properties out, or use them predominately as holiday homes, that being so, there are still the odd older parts of Falcon say and Furnisdale that still has some of the old weatherboards and asbestos built homes being lived in . There is a large industrial, business and manufacturing area, car trades and outdoor products like patios etc, as well as many add on buiness` like furniture and garden supplies, bore and drilling works, as well as Officeworks, Bunnings, Spotlight etc. The Mandurah Forum has Big W as well as Woolworths, K-Mart and over 60 small business`s. Quite a few of the major Building companies, have display homes, and help populate the newer suburbs. There are Mansions as well as small cottages, or (bungalows as your Poms call them) A couple of 5 star hotels, The Atrium, Sebel, and other named that you find in resort type cities.
The lifestyle is whatever you choose to make of it. Fishing, Touring, (Bus charter company) House boats on the Murray, Autumn centre for the retiree`s, Over 55`s complexes. Lots of people come and go from there every day, the railway takes you to the city of PERTH in about 45 minutes
Night clubs. Pinjarra is another close town with a country atmosphere, about 30 minutes away inland on the South West H`way, has Alcoa Alumina installation, (mining) A large Drilling company has its head office there, too. I could go on and on.. what else do you wish to know?
