Where to live

Hi,
We arrived n WA on 27th Nov and are currently staying in a holiday let in Secret Harbour. We have 3 kids 7, 5 & 3 and keen to get them into a good school. I work in Jandakot and we are looking at suburbs south of the city to make the daily commute easier.

Can anyone recommend areas we should consider to put roots down? We have looked around Secret Harbour which is nice enough but does't seem to have a great deal to do. We are not bothered if we live away from the beach.

We have also looked at Bibra Lake, South Fremantle and Hamilton Hill.

Your inside knowledge of areas would be much appreciated as we are getting a bit stressed about it at the moment.

Ignore some of the vibe on Hamilton hill we are right by manning lake and it's wonderful. Park fir the kids digs etc, about 10-15 stroll to the beach, 10 mins to local shops. Cannot fault the place so far.

Leeming, Murdoch, Kardinya, Canning Vale. I live in Leeming great community feel to the suburb, good schools.

We live in Atwell and absolutely love it! We seem to be close to everything that we need. My partner works in Jandakot and is a 5 - 10 min drive to work so it is just great! Have a little look into Atwell because it really is a great and it is supposed to be the 6th best burb in Perth! You will be about 15 min drive to the beach, 15 mins from the city and 15 mins to Freo.

What sort of budget do you have? Are you renting or looking to buy?

St pauls , Beeliar, Atwell, Bibra Lake , North Lakes , Winthrop, Jandakot , Leeming , Willeton , Riverton , Canning vale , Southern River , Kardinya, Bull creek , all nice :) all not bad for central areas Perth , Trains ( even if you have to drive and leave your car ) and Freemantle .

must admit we have no idea of yet as whether to go North or South, will explore some of the areas listed on this thread
