Obtaining rental without employment !!!

Can anyone tell me if they have managed to secure a rental without a job ? Both my wife and I have been state sponsored because we are both in high demand professions. I have had 2 job offers since we have been here just over 2 weeks and the OH is waiting for a response from a job that she applied for last week. We have sufficient funds in our accounts to cover minimum 12 months rent and I am a landlord of 5 properties myself in the UK. We have supplied all this info in our first application yesterday and have just been told that we weren't successful, we even offered to pay 12 weeks in advance. We have 2 possibly 3 weeks remaining in our holiday let and need to find somewhere suitable before then otherwise its a tent !!!!

Perhaps get the job offers in writing - plus a bank statement to support the fact that you can pay.

We both didn't have jobs our any offers (came as PR's) when we got our rental through an agent, we just took in our bank statements with our saving balance and the agent more than happy to accept this. All they are bothered about is that you can obviously pay the rent for the amount of time you intend to take the lease out on. I would say you wouldn't have any problems.

We weren't in employment when we got our first rental. Similar to above, we showed bank statements to prove we had appropriate funds.

Same here , we had a statement saying we could pay 6 months rent :)

Thanks all, we have 2 more to look at this afternoon, our daughter has been accepted in a school in the area where we would like to settle so we are going to mention this, pull on the heart strings a little !!

What are the pros and cons of applying for rental properties online through www.1form.com.au ?Is it effective ? What is the modus operandi of this all?

If we dont get any of the 3 now we have put an application in to then thats our next move, good news is that the OH should be getting a start soon at Charlies so if it is the employment thats getting in the way !!!!
