  1. I've come back to UK ( for many reasons as well as that awful feeling) but may be back - I would recommend getting to a year AT THE VERY LEAST cos what you're feeling may not go away by moving back to where youy were from etc...you're adjusting...give time and try your damnest to not focus on it...just get out, keep meeting new people and appreciate what is there first
  2. Hi Bunbury is a nice place. I worried a lot about how we were going to cope financially but we were easily surviving on one wage similar to yours, as Phil says, there is so much to do when the sun is out most of the time, especially for your childrens ages. I did get dismayed with finding work but I found after 2 months of relentless, confidence busting applying for jobs, it all started to come together!! I've read on here before, for some jobs, that doorstepping works alot and in that line of work I should imagine so. I didn't find the cost of living high but I know most do. Very simply, how many loaves of bread can you get per hour paid, in both places. We have loads more bread in Oz but that could have had to do with our UK jobs!! Also, the cost of private schooling divide is not as great as in England so is definitely worth some research,,, Best of luck
  3. Thanks all...the Perth one is what I mean as we are there for a day and a half before going back to England. Caversham wins just got to suss out the transport system!
  4. We are going to take my 4 year old to one of them tomorrow as part of our last day in oz...which one would you recommend?
  5. Hi any insider tips please? Going to Kings Park and possibly the zoo else the train to fremantle? Any little shops or sights not to miss on the way. \it isn't much time witha 4 year old whinging about being tired awwww haha
  6. Bit confused....Have some money to take back to England thankfully, and am wondering what is the best way. I knoe some people take cash back but we used moneycorp here which were good here...

  9. oh I'm looking at all sorts. I would try some cleaning but still need childcare haha
  10. Yes in my first few days in my hire car, I was driving normal speed and some 'hoon' behind me overtook but then tried to get my wing mirror at the same time...luckily he missed as it would have been $400 damage liability on me.....
  11. I am looking and looking for jobs and am now considering care work and retail which both involve weekends and evenings generally do will make the work life balance a bit rubbish which isn't the way forward! not sure if I should spec call? Anyone any suggestions besides trawling the jobsearch sites... I think I've seen them all! never had an issue getting work so it's quite a confidence knock...
  12. Hi Claire Don't worry about what's here - they're are a lot of schools and amenities. The schools are just like UK, only in the fact some are good, some are less good. Lots of great, diverse beaches. Loads of shops (mostly house ones), loads of rentals.... I was worrying juslt like you 3 months ago. The only thing is getting all tings set up which is a necessary headache and dragging kids round all the authorities. You'd have the same to do in UK but just new systems to learn. Any questions please pm
