Rossmoyne
I suggest that you read through the Department of Immigration website http://www.border.gov.au to find out if you would qualify for a visa. There is a visa finder at http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1, and this will give you some guidance. If you consider that you qualify for a visa, you might wish to consult a registered Migration Agent to help you with your application. There is a list of them on the Dept of Immigration website, and some highly recommended Agents post on this forum and on our sister forum http://www.pomsinoz.com.au. Please come back to us if you have any further questions and we will try and help as much as possible.
verystormy
The first thing to do is to look at the two occupation lists on the above web site. They are called SOL and CSOL and look to see if your occupation is on either. If it is on the CSOL only, then you would need to see if any states are sponsoring it as these occupations need a sponsor - either state or business, but state is better. If that is all good, then you need to check what the requirements are for the skills assessment for that occupation. This will specify how much experience is required and what qualifications are required
