We have been in Perth for four years and live in Ballajura. We are both British Indian and no kids, aged 33. We were born in U.K. and moved to Perth as my husband is an electrician and myself a scientist! The reason I am posting here is because we feel so lonely and need to make new friends that enjoy eating and drinking and generally just relaxing. Its been very difficult to meet other couples in general although we do have work friends! hIm hoping there are some people out there keen to meet up snd socialise with us! Pegs Posted February 20, 2017 Report Share Posted February 20, 2017 Hi Jay, while not in the "eating and drinking" category, we found parkrun was great at allowing us to meet, chat and make friends with similar outlook and who lived nearby. It is active in that you run or walk 5 Km, starting at 8am on a Saturday morning, but its free and put on each week by people taking it in turns to volunteer. That paying it forward feel of doing something for others gives it a great community feel. There are 22 parkruns in WA now and more than 200 in Australia and more than 800 around the world (http://www.parkrun.com.au/events/ ). Your nearest is probably at Carine Glades (http://www.parkrun.com.au/carineglades/ ). We found parkrun great when we moved here 4 years ago (there was just one event when we arrived) and have made a lot of good friends through it - who we still have today.
