Western Power - team UK!!!

we are fairly new to the site, I've recently been recruited by Western Power as a Lineworker along with 34 other guys from the UK. Will be heading over to Perth in March this year on a 457. would love to hear from any other Lineys and their families. we are:-

Hi my husband is one of those lineworkers too lol we are from northern ireland we will be based around balcatta area we have 3 boys 14, 11 and 15months

Us too!! We are Stevie and Sas Hubbard. We've three kids Dale who's 14 jake who's 4 and wee Abigail is 1. We're going to Albany but will be in Perth for 6 weeks when we first arrive. We thought we were gong to Balcatta but now its Albany. I'm leaving behind my older daughters who are 22 and 20. Oh its all a bit quick eh xx

Hi all I'm heading over in March with the first team, wifey and kids will follow in a few months. Been told that I'm being base in Balcatta Depot after the stint in the school, anyone think they will be based close by?. Has any guys concerns with the Q1 rate being low bearing in mind the cost of living and home rental ie a half decent 3-4 bed home costing around $350-$400per week or am I looking in the wrong places lol. Who has to go back too collage and do electrical theory lol can't feckin wait lol.

We heading to Jandakot which is perth metro south, I've been told rentals are a bit cheaper south of the river (Balcatta being North). But from waht I seen, they seem pretty expensive!!! We looking on Real estate au but surely theres gotta be more sites out there.

I asked about Q1 rate being basic, they tel me this is the minimum and you can expect to earn & with o.t you could upto $100k!! I read on some info that guys working out of Balcatta & Jandakot may work a 7 day rosta, have you heard of this - how does it work??
