      New to this

      Hi all,
      Looking for any advice at all, just decided to start the process of applying for visa. my oh is a floor fitter with no formal qualifications but 12 years experience, he was going to get his nvq before applying for the tra but after reading different comments i dont think this is going to work.Has anyone found a solution to getting around this? Thanks

      Your best bet may be to speak to a migration agent. Most, if not all, will do a free initial consultation.

      Thanks i think thats the best option. Going to a down under show in a few weeks so hopefully pick up some usefull info and get registered with an agent.

      Hi,
      I used australian skills assessment for my print industry experienceof 24 years as I had no formal quals. This gained me an AQFIII certificate at a cost of $3000 then apply to tra. This took about 3 months, hope this helps. (i think floor finishers are done by these people)

      Thanks, just spoke to migration agent he reckons to get the qualification will take about 5 months and then another few months for the tra. Was hoping to get it done before the changes come in on july.
