  1. dependent on public transport which is why meeting in town would suit me, but, have smart card will travel. Just let me know where and when.
  2. Hi again. I live North of the city, near the CBD. Easy for me to get into town. Yes I was chatting with Bottler and I think you also spoke to my daughter Julia.
  3. I was indeed there. I was the older of the fair headed mother and daughter ensemble sat with Deb and Lisa at the table behind the one with kate and John. I'm sorry i missed you but I did mean to circulate before we left at the end but it was so crowded and all the groups were talking ten to the dozen so it seemed rude to interrupt. Although in retrospect it was probably ruder not to have circulated earlier. Give me a call next time you are in town and we could meet and chat then. I think you did chat with my daughter but she's not sure.
  4. Hi. Are you going to the meet on Sunday? If so, we can meet up there and arrange to meet up for coffee or something. If not send me a pm and we can arrange something. Rona
  5. Hi. I'll be there but you may already have counted me from the PIO forum.
  6. Thanks Rossmoyne. I've been surfing for clubs and looking at the volunteering opportunities. Good idea
  7. That would be great. Glad you have your flights booked now. You must be getting quite excited. You will love Perth or at least I do anyway. And I'm looking forward to meeting your mum. I'm not sure where Woodvale is but I'll have a look. We are still near the centre beside Langley Park but we can easily meet in town.
  8. Yes you are right. I hadn't meant to sound so down. I was just thinking that there might be someone else looking for someone to meet up with now and again to chat a bit. That's all. I do have things to do. But thanks for the suggestions:biggrin:
  9. Thanks for the info. Will certainly look into this
  10. Sounds interesting. Is there a site to find out where and when I can catch this coach? I live in East Perth
  11. I find myself in the position of being friendless here in Perth. I came over to live with my daughter and son-in-law a few months ago and for a while there was so much to do and see that I didn't particularly notice that I'd made no friends. Inevitably life has settled down and of course my daughter and son-in-law are off doing their own thing most of the time. But I really notice being on my own a lot at weekends when they are off cycling or weekends away or at the sailing club etc. Are there any others out there in the same position who would like to meet up sometimes for coffee or lunch or to sightsee or even just shop?
  12. Thanks. Just getting it all together. Had the medical booked for this week but had to put it off as have a chest infection and I don't want anything showing up on the x-ray just in case. The police report is back and the form 80 done but the assurance of support will take 28 days so may have to send in later as they only gave me 28 days from date of e-mail to return everything. May have to ask for an extension as they want everything sent together and not sure if my pc will shrink everything down enough to send in one go anyway. Still all minor glitches now I hope.
  13. IKNOWCB I've been asked for police reports and medical. Visa soon hopefully. Meanwhile new bike arrives this week. All good. I'm loving it here.
  14. I get to Perth at the end of January. Whoopee. Can't wait to meet everyone
