  1. Thanks for all your advice. We had a drive around as their was not much difference between the schools and decided on Springfield in Kallaroo as we think there will be more property available in the areas near the school that we can afford/want to live in. We can look at hillarys, Kallaroo, Padbury and mullaloo now for a rental or property to buy. Sorrento and Marmon are a bit more expensive. The nice part of Duncraig is quite small so less chance of a house becoming available for us. I think we are going for the beach bum life style!!!
  2. Thanks for the info, it is such a difficult decision and i need to make it quickly. The high schools is a good point as they will wan't to go to the school their friends are going to.
  3. Help Needed! Arrived 2 weeks ago and need to decide on a school NOR Pointer Primary School in south Duncraig, and Springfield Primary School in Kallaroo have out of catchment area spaces for my two sons who will be in kindy and year 1. We will move to the area the school is in once we have decided. We are currently in a holiday let for the next 5 weeks. On paper Poynter is a better school but the Head changed in 2014 and the 2015 NAPLAN results aren't available yet. Dose anyone know anything about the school now the head has changed? Springfield Primary results are good but not as good as Poynter and it seems a very nurturing laid back school. Any advice on these schools and also living in Kallaroo or Duncraig would be appreciated.
  4. We would like to come, as we have only just arrived and are a family of billy no mates too!
  5. Thank you so much for all your replies. I forgot my log in of a while so didn't respond, sorry. i went with PSS in the end and it was around 2,500 for 575 cubic feet. i did also use insure my move and found them to be very good and would recommend them. We arrived on the 11th of Jan and have bought a car and just need to decide on a school now ready for Monday. we can't believe we live in such a beautiful place.
  6. We are arriving in Perth on the 11th of Jan 2015 with our two young boys and still need to book a shipping company. Has anyone used a different insurance company to the shipping companies one? Trying to see if I can cut down on the amount of info needed and the cost. Any suggestions? Also looking at using Doreen bonner and PSS, any recommendations please just let me know. We have around half a container. Cheers
  7. We arrive on the 12th of Jan!!!! Getting excited now but pretending to friends and family that we are not too excited.
  8. Thank you and congratulations to you too. How is the organising going? We have our house up for sale now. Just trying to decide on a removal company, we have about half a container to ship over. Good luck with the visa.
  9. I have been told the same thing and was hoping to take 40k each. We have our flights booked for Jan.
  10. We also also arriving in Jan (11th) it seems like a popular month. Just wanted to say hi and well done. I'm hopefully not going to work much as we have 2 children. I'm just in the process of registering as an acupuncturist in Aus, fingers crossed. My husband is looking for work, currently he is a gas engineer. Any advice is welcome.
  11. Hi, Has anyone been too or heard anything about the 'Down Under Live' expo's in the Uk. There is one coming up in May in Birmingham. So just wondering if it will be of any use going or not? Brett
  12. Hi, Where do we start? Myself the misses and the 2 kids have just returned to UK after a short break in Perth and Brisbane (We needed to get our passports stamped within the 1st year of our visa being accepted). We are looking to move to Perth in the Joondalup region within the next 18th Months. So we need to start looking at properties, schools and jobs etc. As far as jobs, im hearing and reading so many mix reports, I'm a Gas engineer currently working for British Gas also im a qualified plumber as well. My partner is a medical rep and also a qualified acupuncturist. There are so many question that need i need to be answered but at the moment im looking for job agencies who deal with mine and partners skills and property agents in the joodaalup region, the other questions will have to wait till later. Regards Brett
