  1. I was project 2000 school of nursing had shut, uni giving diploma still going. I requested the NMC to send a transcript which they will send to AHPRA. I feel for you. It's an awful process
  2. Hi we arrive in safety bay on Oct 4th. We have no family there so would love to meet up for a BBQ / at pub/ anything. I am 43 and hubby 46, 2 girls 12 and 9 and Labrador. Were just a normal family ( if there is such a thing!), easy going and hoping to meet some people to socialise with so would be happy to meet up ☺
  3. Can anyone recommend who to use? I need my labrador picked up from Melbourne quarantine on Sunday 5th October and flown to Perth
  4. I am shipping my Labrador in 4 weeks time. Flight from Gatwick to Melbourne £1870, I am not using a pet transport agency, am doing it myself. 10 days quarantine £900. Yet to arrange Melbourne to Perth flight. Daff.gov.au give a breakdown of timescale what you need to do and when. My container was £120. You also need an export health cert from depra.
  5. Having gone through the stress of the last 2 years, been granted a visa based on my qualification DipHE nursing being equivent to an au degree by ANMAC we are 6 weeks away from moving to Perth, flights booked, accommodation, dog booked in quarantine, job left, kids ready and it looks like I'm now going to be refused registration by AHPRA. Not sure what to do now, do I move my family half way across the world not knowing if and when AHPRA will register me. I applied to register in December 2013 by the way! Is there work as a health care assistant does anyone know? I will do anything. It is awful to be in this position 6 weeks from leaving the UK ? we were going as a family based on my nursing.
  6. Hi we are moving to safety bay 4th October. Really like to meet some of you guys. I'm 42 , kids dog and hubby in tow, I hope to be working full time. Excited about move but nervous too! If anyone free for a dog walk/coffee etc please get in touch and I would love to come on your meet ups. Karen ☺
  7. Thank you for your offer, we are planning to visit Mandurah, maybe I could message you nearer the time? :-)
  8. Excellent thank you, I would be very interested in meeting up, and would be lovely for girls to meet yours, if they are free. I will message you when in Perth. We land march 30th and leave April 19th .:-)
  9. hi, we are coming out for 3 weeks end of March. Im 42 nurse, hubby 45 carpenter , girls age 12 and 8. got a rental in bertrum, planning on researching areas, jobs, schools, houses etc, have visa and hoping to tie up loose ends by end of year and move. anyone willing to meet up- coffee, barbie, beer, park, dog walk, (love dogs obviously wont have mine though), sports? anything really. would just be good to get some insight from people already there and have a chat. or any advice online appreciated about best things to do on a reccie. cant wait to visit. we are friendly, easy going. if anyone can spare any time, even if its just an hour, got loads of things planned so going to be very busy but it would be really nice to meet people , NOR, SOR, Rockingham Mandarah nearer the hills we are going to visit all these areas so doesn't matter where you are. we cant afford near the cbd or more expensive perth suburbs though:biggrin:
  10. I cant really add much more, agree with everyone else and you are anything but selfish. Ultimately you have to put yours, and your childrens future above everything else. Ive just got my visa have told my family, but not my husbands, and im not sure how they will take it. It is an emotional rollercoaster and its very difficult. I am a nurse too. I hope what people have said has helped you, even if family give you their blessing you still feel guilty but you have to remember all of the reasons you want to go. You should still go, I am not the best person to advice you about your mum and how to handle it because my relationship with my mum is complicated too, but wanting a better future for your children is not selfish, that is one of the main reasons we are going to. x
  11. No offence Tracey lol, my lazy choc lab is far better behaved than my daughters and doesn't slam doors due to hormonal surges!
  12. this is a relief to read as we are planning on bringing our lazy choccy lab next year!
  13. Hi I'm a practice nurse. Just done EOI invited for state sponsorship and just put in application for that. Hoping to visit in April and be out by end of next year.good to hear from other nurses in same boat.
