Hi all,
I have recently moved out here and living in the Northern Suburbs. I am a bricklayer by trade of 26 years, the last 13 spent sub-contracting for various house builders/commercial sector.
I would appreciate some advice from others that have been in a similar situation. It seems that out here everything is done in small gangs/teams, or you go and work for someone, which is less money. Is it better to just buy a UTE trailer and profiles, barrows etc and take a chance? Will the builders give you work if you are on your own? Is it viable to try and get contracts in the commercial sector? What is the going rate per brick/block?
Likewise if anyone is in a similar situation to me and would like to team up then please let me know.
Any advice will be gratefully accepted.
Thanks
