  1. Just doing up our bathroom before getting it valued then on the market it goes! Feels pretty real now!!
  2. Oh wonder if it's a 186 then!!? I'll wait till my refs are in and if I'm offered it I guess! Feel bit awkward asking details when I may not get it!! Thank u everyone x
  3. I'm not sure!! They said permenant, they pay for it and it's quick. I said I didnt want 457 due to the school fees. I've had a google and if it is employer nomination scheme you have six months from visa approval to starting work. I was surprised with the 8wk thing but she seemed sure!
  4. Hi, been for an interview and they said if I got the job, they would offer me a permenant visa that would be applied for in March 2015 and it takes roughly 8wks to complete. The job would then start in November when the hospital opens. Do u think we would be able to go as soon as the visa is granted or would we have to wait till November seeing as this is employer nominated? Thank u!
  5. That does sound lovely particularly after a 12hr shift on delivery with no break!
  6. It went well and she called for refs yesterday but she mentioned they had two private hospitals looking for midwifes. She said the big new hospitals are public and private so I'd be fine. She also told me Fiona Stanley do not have a maternity unit planned?!!
  7. That's good to hear! She made me doubt I'd get a job!!
  8. Hi. Any one got an experience or views? Been to an interview today and they put me right off working in private hospitals!! Thanks Sue
  9. I feel similar!! I fret we will go out and he will be unemployed!!! Aarrggh
  10. We want to do it more than not for sure!! Where are u thinking of living?? We are going to drink wine tomorrow night and pay for Anmac!!
  11. Does look a little low but massive shift allowances and it encourages a healthy work life balance. I'll see what Tuesday brings! We will sell our house a little later as we are buying a little rental place in case it all goes pear shaped in Aussie!! I don't think we are very organised yet! Still got massive heebie jeebies!! There's a very big part of me wanting it another saying don't be crazy!!
  12. http://www.sjog.org.au/lifechanging is where I went! I'm just waiting for my employer ref then I'm putting ANMAC in too!! Oh god...every time I think about it all I feel a little ill!!

  15. Thats good. They did that for me then I was put in the pool!! Have you looked at sjog? Their employment package is v attractive! A lot of anti social benefits!!
  16. im direct entry too. Think it'll be easier getting firm job offers once anmac, aphra and visa is sorted but no harm haubh a look. The agencies seem positive but won't obv do anything this early. Sjog seem nice and they are recruiting Brits atm. Google their international campaign and apply! We are aiming to come out Feb time x
  17. Do try not to panic! They dropped the phone on my interview and cut me off!! They called back all laughing!! Broke the ice. I dobt mind phone interviews on the whole. I've applied to SJOG and have an interview in London next week. I've just sent off for anmac! Not decided which visa yet. Unsure if I can do full time unless it's 12hr shifts and it was short shifts only at Fiona Stanley. Fingers crossed! Private sounds pretty good!!!
  18. Assume you've had the interview! It wasn't so much scenarios with me. It was giving examples of evidence based care and difficult situations with women! Hope it went well.
  19. I've had a look and you only need the three years if you need the extra 5points so i think I'm OK! Onwards and upwards!! Thank u
  20. Good luck! They were really nice when I was interviewed. They gave me the pre prepared questions prior to the interview and I scribbled notes down. One lady was tougher than the others when I asked about flexible hours at school holidays! Still nice but firm about what was expected. Best of luck!
  21. Hi, im just getting my paper work together to apply to ANMAC as a midwife. Ive read through what it needs and im worried about the employers reference. Ideally I did not want my employer to know my plans at this early stage when it could be many months before we go. Do you think a reference from a delivery suite sister/senior would be ok? It doesn't specifically state it has to be your manager, just a supervisor? Im also a bit concerned as in the last three years I had a 12mth gap from practise for personal reasons. I kept my registration and prep up to date but didn't actually practise. Would this cause problems do you think in regards to the last 3 years of practise bit of anmac? thank you v v much sue
  22. Heard from Aussie. Ive been successful and placed in a pool awaiting a job offer! Been told this is how it works. Not sure if I should start the visa process stuff or not tho!?! I've messaged them asking what I should expect next! I'm unsure how likely it now is to get a job offer? Pretty excited tho!
  23. Ahhhhh, all your posts make sense. They said they would draw from the pool until April time! I assume when they actually offer you the job its then a concrete offer. Watch this space!! Thank u
  24. I'll wait and see if they offer me the job! Reading the site it like looks like they place everyone in this work pool and pull them out when needed! Bit odd for sure. Thanks everyone.
